Horse Trailers

A horse trailer has different names in different states, in Australia and New Zealand it is being called horse float and in British it is known as horsebox. This trailer is to shift horses from one place to another place. These trailers are in many different designs, sizes such has small units which have hold two to three horses at a time which can be pulled by an SUV or a pick up to gooseneck designs which have ability carry more than eight horses at a time and transport them to another location, it can be pulled by a 1 ton dually-style pickups. There are also semi-trailers which can used to pick other animals too. There are also motorized vehicles in UK and in Australia and America they are known as horse van and they also work to carry animals. There are railway vehicles and they are particularly designed for this same purpose.

Stock trailers are the least costly invention for this purpose, these trailers are made at the bottom and have opening to the eye level of the cattle to make sure that they have enough open space to breath easily. Trailers which have been particularly designed for horses are more complex. Horses have been transfers to location for races or works so it is important for them to remain physically fit so they can do their work properly, that is why these vehicles have been made with so much comfort and consideration. Most vehicles have windows and vents so animal do not feel trapped or stressed when reach to its destination.

In Europe many motorized horseboxes will have a single ramp on the back or on the any side, and many of them will have a second ramp too which will be smaller than the other. there there are also rules for the ramps which are being used to carry commercial horses and they are that the ramp should not be steeper than 20 degree, and attendant or the driver of the horse should have access to it without using ramps and that can be done with fixing a small hatch or a door. Many smaller trailers which are being used for one to four horses do not have ramps at all. They will have a floor which will be low in height so horses can come out or a person can be able to go inside.

Horses’ boxes are being designed with the consideration of the number of horses which need to be carried. They are available in different sizes and one can purchase them according to need. Some manufacturer who wanted to give an advance look or feature to the trailers, have add human living features to at as well.
